I love creating smokey eyes in unusual colours, this look is one of my new favourites. It’s a beautiful pop of shimmery pink/peach smoked out by a wine/plum colour. Sounds a bit strange but it is a really fun and pretty look. I hope you like it! xx
As always start off with a prepped and primed base. I used Urban Decay’s primer potion and my concealer on my lids. This look uses a number of shadows that need to be built up to achieve the perfect shade. Start with a light transition shade, I used Makeup Geek’s Peach Smoothie. Makeup Geek is an American makeup brand, I am obsessed with the shadows. Anyway, moving on, I applied this transition shade high up in the crease and I went over it with a warmer transition shade, MAC’s Soft Brown. Next, I went straight in with my warm wine colour, this is another Makeup Geek shadow called Bitten, this is a very straight forward wine shade in matte. I applied this in my crease from inner corner to outer corner, keeping it lighter on the inner corner. Push this up into the upper crease area for more drama. This requires a lot of blending so keep going back over each new application with a clean fluffy eye shadow brush. This will take away any harsh lines. I went over Bitten with a very light application of a cool tone stone colour, I used Makeup Geek’s Barcelona Beach (yes, I used all the Makeup Geek products I own!). This helped smoke out the wine shade even further. Don’t forget to blend, blend, and blend some more! For the next step I applied the stunning pinky/peach tone to my lid, keeping it below the crease. I then blended the crease AGAIN so that everything sits well together. The next thing I did was apply my eye liner. I used Rimmel’s gel liner and created a strong winged line. Once this was all to my liking I moved along to the next step.
I used eye cream and cotton rounds to clean up the area under my eyes. This helps to make the eyeliner wing very sharp. I then applied my concealer under my eyes and applied my foundation. I also applied my highlighter and contour before my setting powder as I have really gotten into using cream highlighters and contours recently. When everything was set I applied my blusher.
Going back to my eyes I used Peach Smoothie, Barcelona Beach, and Bitten to line my lower lash line, I kept Bitten on the outer corner only so that the inner corners are bright and fresh looking. I also lined both my upper and lower water lines with a black kohl liner. I then applied my false lashes and a coat of black mascara. Finally I filled in my brows and applied a nude lipstick to my lips.
And we’re all done. I love this look, there are a few steps involved but if you remember to keep blending it will all work out perfectly!
