It seems I am forever buying makeup. I love new products and testing out new styles so I am always picking up bits and pieces. In this post I want to share with you some of the products I have bought over the last few months because I am in loooove with them! I also want to point out that I am not sponsored by any company, all my opinions are unbiased. If I don’t like a product I just won’t write about it, I’d rather share all the things I love! So, without further ado……..
Firstly I want to introduce you to my favourite eye shadow palette of all time. MAC recently did a collaboration with Brooke Shields. The whole collection was divine but my eyes went straight to the Gravitas x15 palette. It’s simply amazing. This is pretty much a MAC pro palette influenced by Brooke Shields’s favourite colour shadows. The pro palettes retail at €18.00, the inserts for 15 shadows cost €3.50, and then the eye shadow pans cost €10 each. You’re looking at €171.50 if you want to build your own pro palette. The Gravitas one comes fully assembled for you and it only costs €85, an absolute steal! The shadows themselves are perfect, a great combination of matte and shimmer which are amazingly pigmented. It includes great highlight shades such as Shroom and Canter. My favourite transition shade, Soft Brown, is in it. There are lovely deep shades such as Plummed and Psyche, there are fab cool tones such as Satin Taupe and Expensive Pink, to name but a few. This is a fabulous neutral palette that will create pretty much any look from the softest daytime look to the smokiest ‘night on the town look’. I really am obsessed with this palette; the colours, the presentation, the price, it’s all simply perfect! A great Christmas present idea!
I live in Cork and unfortunately there are two amazing makeup brands that have not come to Cork yet, so when I visit Dublin, I love to pick up a few treats for myself. The brands are Nars and the newly launched Charlotte Tilbury. Recently I bought the Nars Algorithm Laguna bronzing powder palette. I have heard great reviews of the Ita brush and I have been dying to get my hands on it. I can’t see the price of it on the Brown Thomas website but off the top of my head it was about €49. However, the Algorithm bronzig palette comes with a short-handle Ita brush, and a gorgeous soft bronzer powder, and all for €42. Again, another steal. The Ita brush is amazing for contouring the cheekbones. It is a really narrow brush with long bristles. I am super pale so bronzers can be a sore subject for me but this bronzer is simply stunning, it’s so light, very buildable and very natural. Definitely worth an investment in my opinion.
The second brand still missing from Cork is the amazing Charlotte Tilbury. Charlotte is the world’s leading makeup artist and she has launched her own makeup collection. The collection is fantastic, it is going to revolutionise the makeup industry. It’s designed to make makeup application and makeup selection easy for everyone. Charlotte has created ten looks and you can simply pick out the look you like best and the products are all listed and bundled together. My personal favourite is Vintage Vamp. Have a look at the website here: http://www.charlottetilbury.com/uk/ I invested in three products from the range (so far!). I bought the Matte Revolution lipstick in Very Victoria (€30), the Rock ‘n’ Kohl liquid eyeliner in Barbarella Brown (€25), and the Colour Chameleon in Bronzed Garnet (€25). Firstly the lipstick is amazing. The matte effect is really unusual but so pretty and it lasts very well. The liquid eyeliner pencil is also fantastic. It really does glide on effortlessly and it doesn’t budge. I have even moved away from my trusted gel liner and started using this all the time. But the Colour Chameleon is what I really want to talk about. These are for all the world a very thick eyeliner pencil. Sometimes I use it as eyeliner alone and other times I apply it all over the lid. What’s special about these is that the pressure of picking out the right colour for you is completely taken away. There is a day one and an evening colour for every eye colour. I think this is amazing. The colours are already chosen for you and you know they are going to compliment your eyes so well. I’m obsessed to say the least. I bought the day shade for green eyes, and I know I will be purchasing the evening one next time I’m in Dublin! My pet peeve is makeup that runs or smudges or strays, I need my makeup to stay locked in place all day and night. The Colour Chameleon is not going anywhere! This means you have to be very quick with your blending because once it settles you can’t change it! I really do love the Charlotte Tilbury range, it’s so glamorous and yet so effortless to pick out the right products for you.
Last, but most certainly not least, I want to tell you about my new favourite brow product. If you are familiar with me, and my blog, you know I am obsessed with brows, they’re my thing, so I am always on the hunt for the perfect brow products. I am now in love with the Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Brow Lift Duo. This is a teeny tiny pencil which is ideal for the person who wants to sculpt out their brows very precisely. On the other end there is a a highlighting pencil, which is great for lifting the arch of the brow. I picked it up in Debenhams for €25.50. It’s a great product.
These are my most favourite products of the last few months, I have been planing a post like this for a while now so I hope you enjoyed it, or found it helpful, and maybe I have sparked some ideas for the Christmas wish list! xx
These are such amazing products! You should do holiday makeup looks with those ❤
Christmas post coming very soon! Keep an eye out for it!
